Swegreen Reaches Finals in 'Smart Industry 2021' Competition by IVA, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences

Swegreen has recently been selected as one of six finalists in the prestigious 'Smart Industry' business competition organized by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA). The winner will be announced at the end of February this year.

The annual 'Smart Industry' competition, which was launched in 2016 by IVA, Technology Industries of Sweden, and Siemens, highlights, rewards, and promotes exemplary small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that harness and develop the opportunities of digitalization. The finalists represent diverse industries and business areas, but their common denominator is the innovative and smart use of digitalization that yields tangible results and contributes to societal development.

"We are honored to be selected as one of the six finalists in this competition. It’s a prestigious award, considering IVA’s history and background. At Swegreen, we are hopeful and confident that we have a very good chance of winning." says Sepehr Mousavi, Head of Innovation and Research at Swegreen.

For over 100 years, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) has served as a meeting place for the future of Swedish engineering and technology. IVA brings together expertise and experience from its 250 member companies, approximately 1,300 elected academic members, and builds bridges between business, public organizations, academia, and politics.

"Smart Industry is about showcasing good examples and best practices that lead the way in strengthening Sweden's societal development and competitiveness. We look forward to seeing if we can take home the prize with our unique and digitized solution for futuristic food production and the development of smarter cities of the future." says Sepehr Mousavi.

The jury for the 'Smart Industry' competition consists of ten representatives from various sectors, including business and Chalmers University of Technology. The winner will be announced during a public webinar on February 24, 2022.

"This year, the jury has had a challenging yet enjoyable task. The finalists, in terms of their operations, are quite different from each other but all serve as great examples of the opportunities that digitalization opens up—both for their own businesses and for solving current societal challenges." says Johan Weigelt, Deputy CEO of IVA and chair of the jury.
