Swegreen Climbs the FoodTech 500 List for 2023 and Continues Its Journey of Innovation and Sustainability!

As a pioneer in innovative and sustainable food production, we are thrilled to be recognized on the prestigious FoodTech 500 list. This is the third consecutive year we have climbed the ranks, securing the 169th spot for 2023. This achievement highlights Swegreen's relentless commitment to driving innovation and shaping the future of hyperlocal food production.

FoodTech 500, equivalent to the Fortune 500, is the global list in the food tech, agtech, and innovation sectors that showcases the world’s most influential startup and scale-up companies shaping the future of food, technology, and sustainability. It is organized by Forward Fooding.

“Our participation in the FoodTech 500, now for the third year, is a testament to our commitment to revolutionizing both vertical farming and retail. Climbing the ranks and scoring high in all categories—company size, sustainability, and digital footprint—reflects our team's hard work and dedication,” said Sepehr Mousavi, co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Swegreen.

In 2023, Swegreen made significant strides in improving its operations and sustainable engineering. The launch of our cutting-edge platform, SAGA, alongside comprehensive life cycle assessments (LCA) that showcase our outstanding results, emphasizes our dedication to development, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. Furthermore, strategic partnerships with retail leaders like Coop in Sweden and our expansion into the German market strengthen Swegreen’s position as a global leader in food technology.

The FoodTech 500 list serves as a reflection of the diverse innovations shaping the future of agriculture and food. From plant-based technology to farming and precision cultivation, Swegreen's pioneering work in vertical indoor farming is a beacon of innovation within the industry.

“We are honored to be recognized among the top innovators in the food and technology sectors. This acknowledgment affirms our efforts to create impactful solutions that contribute to a sustainable and resilient urban food system,” Mousavi added.

The official unveiling of the FoodTech 500 list on March 18 in London highlights the global impact of the initiative, with companies from 77 countries represented. Contributing significantly to a rapidly growing sector, the list drives innovation and shapes the future of a global industry. A sector experiencing profound change, with over USD 6.61 billion raised in funding over the past year.

Swegreen continues to challenge innovation and sustainability through its solution of in-store, restaurant, and property-based farming—a necessity for the future.
